Directions:
- Suggested Tools Needed:
- Pump Sprayer or Watering Can
- Fan Nozzle is Recommended for best coverage
- Garden Rake
- Tamp Recommended for assisting bond
- Gloves
- STEP 1: Prep/Pre-Care
- Spread your chosen mulch material at your desired thickness.
- Make sure you allow your mulch material to be as dry as possible. Wet material affects the bond of our Mulch Glue. Turn off any irrigation 1-2 days prior to application of Mulch Glue
- Rake the mulch material, while spreading it, to help it dry out. This also helps shake out dust, which affects bonding
- If using pea gravel or rock, spread the rock in your bed area. Lightly rinse it with a hose, knocking the dust off. Allow it to dry 1-2 days before applying the mulch glue.
- STEP 2: Mulch Glue Application
- Single Coat Process
- Shake well before applying.
- Fill your pump sprayer (use a fan tip for best coverage/saturation) or watering can.
- While this is a non-toxic product, protect/cover any area you do not want to spray with product.
- For best results, work in small sections to ensure proper coverage. 1 gallon can cover 100-120ft2, depending on how much is applied.
- Apply the mulch glue and allow to dry 4-6 hours.
- Double Coat Process
- While this step is not necessary, the Double Coat Process really extends the life of the material.
- Shake well before applying. Add up to 50% water for the first coat. 1 gallon can cover 100-120ftz for 2 coats when diluted.
- Fill your pump sprayer (use a fan tip for best coverage/saturation) or watering can.
- While this is a non-toxic product, protect/cover any area you do not want to cover.
- For best results, work in small sections and plan to apply 2 coats.
- While material is still wet, For longer lasting results, tamp down to compact mulch. This further assists the bond.
- Allow to dry for 1 hour.
- Apply the second coat and allow to dry 4-6 hours.
- STEP 3: Post-Care
- Make sure you do not wet the area for 24-48 hours after application. Doing so can negatively affect the bond. Don’t forget to turn off irrigation as well. After 1-2 days, turn back on.
- Keep in mind, mulch glues are not permanent bonds..
- Keep traffic to a minimum. The less traffic directly on the coated material will weaken the bond over time and affect the bond length.
- COVERAGE BY VOLUME:
- 1 Gallon: 100-120ft2
- 2 Gallon: 200-240ft2
- 5 Gallon: 500-600ft2
